Private Schools Participation
Private school teachers, principals, and other educational personnel are eligible to participate in Title II, Part A to the extent that funds are used to provide for the professional development for teachers and others. Section 9501 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) requires private school participation on an equitable basis and in a timely manner. The private schools must be nonprofit and provide elementary or secondary education as determined by South Carolina law. Allocations are determined for Title II, Part A, in part, by census data for children ages 5 – 17.
